A visit from the Applebys

This past week we were fortunate to have a visit from my Grandma and Grandpa Appleby and my Uncle Scott, who came all the way from Wisonsin to see us. It was a busy, fun-filled week. Friday was my Mom's birthday, so the Applebys treated us to dinner at one of Mom's favorite restaurants, then we went back home for cake and swimming. Sunday I was really honored to be able to have everyone over for dinner at our house. With us living far away for so long, I'd never been able to have extended family over. It really meant a lot to me to be able to show them where we live and to cook for them. I'm hoping we can do it again someday! Monday, Memorial Day, we celebrated Scott's birthday. We spent the afternoon in the pool, and enjoyed a steak dinner and cake that night. It was great to be able to share in celebrating Scott's birthday this year, which is actually June 7th. Tuesday night was the Applebys last night in town, so I brought over my camera and tripod, and we got a lot of nice group photos. I think my favorite is the silly one (Second set, bottom right). They had to go home yesterday - we'll miss them, but we are happy we'll get to see them again in July for Cory's wedding.
