A fun surprise :)

I sent Jeff this picture at work today with the following email and the above subject line:

Hey babe,

Hope you're having a good day. I just wanted to share some excitement. On our way home from our playdate this morning we passed someone selling lab puppies. We stopped to look at them and the boys fell in love with this cute little chocolate lab. So did I. I couldn't help myself and we decided to bring it home. We are trying to think of a name. Tyler says her name is puppy. What do you think? Here's a pic I took out in the backyard. Isn't she so cute?

This was my April Fool's Day joke on Jeff. I worked extra hard to find a picture of a puppy sitting in grass that looks just like our grass. The line about Tyler naming her puppy made it seem more real, because that's exactly what he would say. So, around lunchtime, Jeff calls and says, "What's this about a puppy? What were you thinking? I have enough to deal with right now...I have a meeting today, and I don't have time for this. I'm on my way home and we're taking the puppy back." He was very, very convincing with his not-so-happy tone. We got disconnected, and I called him back and said. "You're not really on your way home, are you?" He said he was. So I said, "Jeff, it was an April fool's joke." He said, "So is this. I got you! Haha."

Jeff believed my email at first, until he remembered it was April Fool's Day. I can't believe he got me back so easily!! Had this been real, he would have definitely been annoyed and dumbfounded, but he wouldn't have called angrily saying he was coming home. I should have known better!
