The first of five Christmases

We will have five Christmas celebrations this year. One at our home in California, one at Jeff's Grandma's, one at his Mamaw's, one with Jeff's parents and family, and one with my parents and family. This weekend we had our first of the five. We wanted the boys to open their gifts at home this weekend so they would have time to enjoy their new goodies for a few days before we leave town for the holiday.

To start off the weekend we took the boys to a nearby neighborhood that puts on an amazing light display. Almost every house in this block has a theme with characters from Disney movies or other cartoons or shows. Tyler really loved it this year, recognizing the characters as we strolled by. It was cold outside, but it was a good time. When we asked Tyler if he had fun, he said no - just to be arbitrary - then immediately asked if we could do it again. What a toot. ;)

Before bed last night we made cookies for Santa and put them on a special Santa plate. This morning when Tyler woke up, he looked down the stairs and yelled, "Santa Claus!!!"

This is what Tyler saw as he shouted, "Santa Claus!!!"

He was excited to get downstairs and see that Santa had eaten his cookies - and left a note! "Dear Tyler, Thank you for the yummy cookies. Merry Christmas! Love, Santa"

The boys dug right in to the presents. Tyler was very happy to help his little brother rip his open. Colton was truly surprised - actually startled - when the paper came off and there was something else inside. See the look on his face? He will get used to this process pretty quickly over the next couple of weeks.

Colton loved his presents but may have loved the paper just as much.

Tyler told Santa he wanted Star Wars toys...and look what Santa brought! Tyler spent a good part of the day flying Darth Vader around like a super hero. :)

One of Colton's gifts was the sit to stand giraffe. He liked it in the box....

He liked it even better out of the box.

Tyler LOVES his new Mack (Cars movie) transporter truck. I am positive he will be playing with this A LOT.

Tyler is now known around the Walker house as Handy Tyler. He went around our house and fixed all kinds of things with his new tool set today.

Our Christmas in California was really great. Now it's off to Texas! We are looking forward to celebrating Christmas with family and friends very soon!
