Colton's big boy bed

Twice on Thursday I caught Colton in the process of climbing out of his crib. I decided I didn't want to deal with whatever might happen if he were to actually climb (fall) out, so that night we put together a toddler bed for him and he moved into it right away. That first night he wasn't quite sure what to do with himself, and he got up and knocked on his door about five times, saying, "Mommy...knock, knock!" And finally the last time I went in he asked me to rock him, so I did for a couple minutes, then laid him down as I would have laid him in his crib, and that was the trick. He stayed in his bed that time and slept through the night. Since then it's been smooth sailing. I lay him down, and he goes right to sleep. He's such a trooper, and becoming such a big boy so quickly!
