Last Saturday, May 15th, Jeff and I, the kids and Jeff's parents, walked together in the Great Strides walk in Dallas at Fair Park. Great Strides benefits the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. My good friend Lauren, who I've known since we were about 13, has Cystic Fibrosis, and so does her son, Isaac. Lauren has a Great Strides team that I donate to every year, but this year I decided to take it a step further and organize my own team in Texas. Lauren's team, Brenneman Battalion, went national this year and ended up having I think 5 satellite teams around the country, ours being one of them. With the help of friends and family, particularly my friend Kirsten, who was a co-team captain, we were able to raise more than $700, just from our little Texas team. It was really meaningful for us to be able to do this for Lauren and Isaac, and I sincerely thank everyone who contributed to our team. We had a great time at the walk and are already looking forward to doing it again next year. Here are some pictures from the event.
Before the walk: warming up with the clowns, and Tyler and Colton on stage. (Can you tell Daddy dressed them that day??)

Mackenzie's Mad Dogs - the biggest team there. Wow! Mackenzie is a little girl about Tyler's age who has CF. What amazing support she has!
And we're off!
Some fun around Fair Park during the walk
Me and my little walkers. Side note: the family seen in the upper left corner was there for their son who passed away less than two months before the event, just days after his 15th birthday. I teared up seeing them and thinking about what they were going through as they fought back tears. CF is very real and needs our support to find a cure and improve treatments. If you'd like to donate to our team and support the CF Foundation in making CF stand for CURE FOUND, please click this link: http://www.cff.org/Great_Strides/KellyWalker6839
Here is a link to a video Lauren made about her and Isaac. It explains about CF and how it affects their lives. Please watch.
