One sharp apple and a timeout

Apple, anyone?

This morning I was using our apple slicer to cut an apple for Tyler's breakfast. As I was pushing down hard because it wasn't budging, the handle slipped down to the countertop and the blade stayed right in place, halfway through the apple. The edge of the blade sliced right into the side of my thumb. It's not a terrible injury; I'm going to be fine. But still.... Doesn't this apple look appetizing? This is probably only the fifth time I've used this slicer, and I bought it special because I had heard the metal handled slicers were better and wouldn't break like the plastic ones. Well, my plastic slicer is still in tact after years of use, and here's my metal slicer. I will be sending a nice letter to the apple slicer company, picture and all. This is dangerous!

Timeout, Wall!

Tyler likes to run around and he doesn't always look where he's going, so occasionally he runs into a wall, countertop, doorframe, etc. To make it a less upsetting situation for him, Jeff has taught him to say with all silliness, "bad wall!" So this morning Tyler ran into the wall and told it to go to timeout! (Can you tell what method of discipline we use around here?) ;) I'm thinking maybe the apple slicer could use a timeout, too.
